<title>Dr. Tomás Owens Selected as Rhinehart Award Recipient</title>

<description><![CDATA[The Oklahoma County Medical Society is honored to present the Don F. Rhinehart, MD Medical Service Award to Tomás Owens, MD, in recognition of his extraordinary service to medicine, physicians, and the community.<br /><br />Dr. Owens is the Director and a practicing full-scope family physician at INTEGRIS Health Great Plains Family Medicine, where he has played a pivotal role in training and mentoring generations of physicians. He also serves as Chair of Family Medicine and Vice President of the Medical Staff Officers at INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center.<br /><br />A dedicated leader in organized medicine, Dr. Owens is the Senior Delegate for Oklahoma to the American Academy of Family Physicians and has served many years as President of the Oklahoma Academy of Family Physicians, as well as a delegate to the National Conference of Constituency Leaders. His service extends nationally through his work on the AAFP Foundation Board of Trustees, where he supports fundraising efforts, helps set strategic priorities, establishes policy, and actively serves on multiple committees.<br /><br />Within OCMS, Dr. Owens’ impact is profound and enduring. He is a past President of the Oklahoma County Medical Society, a longtime contributor to the OCMS Bulletin, and a founding member of ITN Central Oklahoma, reflecting his deep commitment to community service and physician-led solutions. His leadership has been instrumental in strengthening OCMS as a hub for physician engagement, education, and community building.<br /><br />Dr. Owens exemplifies the spirit of the Rhinehart Award through his lifelong dedication to improving health care, advancing physician leadership, and serving the people of Oklahoma. The OCMS Board of Directors is thrilled to recognize his remarkable contributions and proudly present him with the Don F. Rhinehart, MD Medical Service Award.]]></description>
